Włodzimierz PREYSS
ACTOR, DIRECTOR, SCREENWRITER, PRODUCER, INDEPENDENT FILMMAKER
In 1975 Włodzimierz  began his studies at the L. Schiller National Film School in Łódź. He earned his acting diploma in 1980, and his master's degree with the academic thesis “O aktorach profesjonalnych i aktorach niezawodnych – mity a rzeczywistość” (“On Professional Actors and Non-Professional Actors - Myths vs. Reality”), written under the supervision of Professor Zygmunt Machwitz. Shortly after his stage debut, he withdrew from professional work. During martial law, after finishing work on the film “Klakier” (“Clapper”), for which he wrote the screenplay (together with Janusz Kondratiuk), he took part in the boycott of artists, and in 1984 left Poland for political reasons. He settled in West Berlin, where he implemented an original educational program for actors and filmmakers (Formacja EDM), staging a theater and film play “Wizja - EDM” (“Vision - EDM”) with his graduates. In 1992, he returned to Poland. He took over as head of the EDM Theater and Film Association and director of the Proscenium Theater. In 2006, together with a group of associates, he founded the EDM Foundation, based in Gdynia. Co-founder of the "Most" International Art Festival. Two children.
He was born on February 28, 1951 in Szczecin. He spent his childhood and youth in Gdańsk. There for 5 years he was a piano student at the Państwowa Szkoła Muzyczna I Stopnia im. H. Wieniawskiego (“H. Wieniawski Undergraduate State Music School”). In 1969 he graduated from Nicolaus Copernicus High School No. 1. He began his adult professional life as a presenter and announcer. He performed in Tri-City and national clubs, including "ŻAK", "Rudy Kot" and "Medyk" in Gdańsk, "Paloma", "Liliput", "Interclub" in Gdynia, "Pod Jaszczurami" in Cracow, "Siódemki" in Łódź while already being a film student, and he was an industrial music entertainer in the famous Sopot club "NON STOP". He performed a similar function, as a boss, in the Teatr Muzyki Mechanicznej (“Industrial Music Theatre”) and Discorama. At that time he earned the title of “number one DJ" in Poland, winning a national tournament of presenters in Wrocław. Until 1974, he worked in the entertainment industry: PSJ, ZPR, ESTRADA Stołeczna, BART. Heading towards cinematography, he took part in the last entertainment program of Wowo Bielicki's “Młode pokolenie” (“Young Generation”).
He was a free creator in Polish cinematography and theater and TV. From 1985 to 1992 he was absent from the country. He was delegated to leave by "Polish Film." He stayed in West Berlin for political reasons, bringing together artists affected by political and financial matters. Later, he was managed by the impresario Pagart. There he co-founded the Berliner KunstForum e.V. and EDM Film und Theaterproduktion, as well as Vision GMBH, in which he was an artistic supervisor.

1990 - 2000 - work in advertising; creation and direction of 30 commercials, authorship of 12 advertising campaigns.
2000 - 2004 - creation and production of a TV show (“Poszukiwacze przygód” / “Adventurers”), authorship and production of a TV series (“Apetyt na miłość” / “Appetite for Love”).
2005 - until now: scripts of feature films and TV series, plays, novels.

For many years she worked in radio, Polska Presse and TVN.
For almost 10 years she was associated with the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia.
Katarzyna's passions include flamenco dancing, fencing, art, writing and traveling.
